Welcome to Teen Book Sleuth: the Search for the Perfect Young Adult Book

Welcome to a world bursting with YA (Young Adult) literature! Bookstores, libraries, and online booksellers teem with books for young adults. But you may find it all a bit difficult to navigate through, and that’s where Teen Book Sleuth comes in. The mission of Teen Book Sleuth is to offer more information at a glance to you, instead of letting you sift through piles of books available. Our mission is to categorize the wide world of YA literature into genres and age groups, instead of letting the shopper search through Amazon.com for something that might sound good. With quick links to Amazon.com and other author and fan sites, you can learn more about a book with the click of a mouse, and spend more time reading the books than searching for them.

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS!!!!

Tonight at midnight, fans from all around the world will line up in front of bookstores, awaiting the seventh and final installment of Harry Potter. After nearly a decade in the making, Harry Potter is ending, and the fans wait in anguish to see whether their beloved Boy Who Lived ends up living or dying. It's been a long and magical road for the fans and fanatics that have fallen in love with J.K. Rowling's story, and, at midnight on 21 July, we will learn the fate of the Boy Who Lived.

Harry Potter has grown out of his cupboard and out of the background, falling into his place in the spotlight and as a hero in the war. Only time will tell, a mere twelve hours away from The End, fans still madly rush to reread Half-Blood Prince or catch up on their knowledge of the Prophecy. With pounding hearts and bated breath, we wait to see if Harry lives or dies. The books are coming to a close, but as the PotterHead knows, fandom is truly forever. We have our own genre of music, our own Order of the Phoenix lunchboxes, and our own beans. As one great fandom, we smile and cry and frantically add the finishing touches to our costumes. And we wait. We, the Harry Potter fans, who have become known for theorizing and waiting, suddenly are nervous, after a decade, for the much-awaited end to come.

We've hissed at spoilers and prepared theories that only Luna would truly appreciate, and we've written fanfiction and composed songs and reread with pounding hearts, and everything comes down to one moment, at midnight tonight, when we finally know the end.

Harry Potter is a phenomenon that legions of fans, numbering certainly in millions, find magical and wonderful and deeply moving. Jo Rowling has inspired a generation to read, to write, and to think, and as she closes Harry's story out, we remember a time when Harry was stuck in his cupboard, not knowing he was famous, and not knowing what a movement and magic he would inspire.

So thank you, Ms. Rowling, for nearly a decade of bated breath, fanfiction, and the makings of certain literary history. We're proud to say that, through it all, there is a part of us inside that still wishes our Hogwarts letter was only just a bit delayed.
